Electrum Wallet
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit the Electrum Wallet promotional website. It also explains the privacy principles intended for any Electrum Wallet app distributed through an app marketplace.
Effective and last updated: October 5, 2026
1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to the Electrum Wallet website and related communications that link to it. In this policy, “Electrum Wallet,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of this website.
The current website is promotional only. It does not create wallet accounts, generate or store recovery phrases or private keys, show balances, or send Bitcoin transactions.
2. Information we receive
Information you provide. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond.
Basic technical information. Our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited request data, such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested page, timestamp, referring page, and security events. This data is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability.
We do not offer user accounts on this website and do not intentionally use advertising trackers or sell personal information.
3. Wallet and financial information
Electrum Wallet is designed as a self-custody product. Recovery phrases, private keys, passphrases, and signed transaction credentials are intended to remain under the user’s control and are not intended to be sent to or stored by us.
Bitcoin addresses, transaction identifiers, balances, and transaction history are publicly available on the Bitcoin blockchain. If a future app requests blockchain data from a public infrastructure provider, that provider may receive the queried address or transaction identifier together with ordinary connection data such as an IP address.
Never send us a recovery phrase, private key, passphrase, or backup file. We do not need them to provide support and cannot recover lost wallet credentials.
4. How information is used
- Provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
- Respond to support, privacy, and legal inquiries.
- Detect spam, fraud, malicious activity, and technical failures.
- Comply with applicable law and protect users, the public, and our rights.
5. Sharing and third-party services
We may share limited information with service providers that host, secure, or support the website, only as needed to perform those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of assets.
The website may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Bitcoin network activity is public and is not controlled by Electrum Wallet.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention and security
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the relevant provider’s operational and security schedules.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, recovery phrase, private keys, passphrases, and backups.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To submit a request, email privacy@electrumwallet.app. We may need to verify your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
8. Children
The website is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the website, an app, or applicable law changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes may also be announced through the relevant product or marketplace listing.
